About Claudia

I was born and raised in Cologne, Germany. In 1982 I came to the United States. I have a M.A. degree from the University of Tuebingen, and a M.S.W. degree from Boston College.
I have worked as a health care analyst, project manager, business analyst in the public and private sector most of my work life, until 2012. My father died in 2012.  I flew home to be with him. Although his death was painful, being with him felt also like a blessing and a completion. After this experience I decided to care for people who are very ill or dying.
Ever since, I have been doing this in a variety of settings. I have also taken several pastoral counseling courses. In 2014 my brother was diagnosed with cancer, and I had the blessing of spending the last months of his life with him. I was holding his hand when he died.
I have acceptance for death. I feel that the time before death is a unique and precious time, that can be spent experiencing moments of real peace and love.
